Over the past three years imports of fruit and nuts, including peanuts, decreased by 31%*. In January-February 2016 an increase in delivery volumes was recorded – by 8.3% to the same period of 2015.
Undoubtedly, the measures taken by the government in response to anti-Russian sanctions serve as the main factor for reduction of volumes of fruit and nuts imports into the country***. In 2013 the countries of the European Union accounted for a quarter of the total import volume of the given product types in physical terms (excluding the countries of the Customs Union). In 2014 the share of these countries decreased to 18.4%, and in 2015 it was lower than 0.01%.
